The 2.5 is the section width in inches. The 10 is the outer diameter of the wheel in inches, not the rim diameter.

Note: this is 10x2.50, not 2.50-10, they are two completely different sizes.

The hose is made of isobutylene isoprene rubber, which is better than natural rubber in terms of air tightness, elastic cushioning and ageing resistance.
