These replacement ice wings are designed to fit your Buzzy Mini or XL. Store folded wings in the freezer. Slide frozen wing through elastic band on XL or onto hook on mini. Wings must be frozen solid to work optimally. Wings will freeze solid in approximately 30 minutes. To transport and maintain frozen temperature, place wings in an insulated lunch bag or freezer with commercially available ice packs. Wings will stay frozen for approximately 10 minutes at room temperature. For longer procedures and for medications that burn or sting, prepare and freeze additional wings. Use the ice pack with Buzzy unless it bothers the child or there is a sensitivity to cold. The cold adds about 60% of the pain relief in older children and adults. For patients under 6 months old, patients with cold sensitivity, Raynaud's or sickle cell disease, use Buzzy without the wings. Young children can hold the ice pack in the hand to provide a competing sensation.
