The Mohs hardness test is a simple and useful way to identify minerals and assess their relative hardness. This kit includes everything you need to explore using Mohs hardness test to identify minerals. The kit includes 1" pieces of nine different minerals, including Talc, Gypsum, Calcite, Fluorite, Apatite, Microcline, Milky Quartz, Corundum, and Topaz, allowing you to test and explore various hardness levels. The included key card identifies each of the different minerals included in the kit. Two unglazed porcelain streak plates - one white, and one black - are also included for performing streak tests.
