Description

The Eisco PH0619 laboratory-grade goniometer-type spectrometer has 0 to 360 degree rotation, 1 degree graduations, and a 0.1 degree vernier scale to provide hands-on experience observing and measuring light spectra. The collimator is mounted on a spring-loaded support, integral with the base. The collimator tube has an adjustable slit on one end and an achromatic converging lens with a 178mm focal length on the other end. The lens is secured in a tube that can be hand adjusted to ensure the slit is in the focal plane of the lens to produce parallel rays. The collimator scale has a 170mm diameter and 0 to 360 degree rotation at 1 degree intervals. It is capable of independent rotation and has a locking screw. The prism table is mounted on a 175mm diameter circular degree scale. The scale is rotatable around the central axis and is provided with a clamping screw. The prism table has three leveling screws and marked lines to assist with precise placement of the prism (sold separately). The astronomical-type telescope is mounted on heavy bearings, and can be rotated around the central axis of the apparatus. It consists of an achromatic objective at one end, and a Ramsden eyepiece with crosswires at the other end. The position of the lens can be hand adjusted. A clamping screw allows the position of the telescope to be fixed, and a tangent screw provides fine adjustment. A vernier scale allows the position of the telescope to be read to a precision of 0.1 degrees. The body and structural parts of the spectrometer are comprised of heavy castings to provide precision and durability. The spectrometer weighs 10.9 lb. and is 11 x 12.2 x 16.5 inches (H x W x D, where H is height, the vertical distance from the lowest to highest point; W is width, the horizontal distance from left to right; D is depth, the horizontal distance from front to back).
Science education products incorporate applied math and science principles into classroom and homeschool-based projects. Teachers in pre-K, elementary, and secondary classrooms use science education kits and products alongside science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) curriculum to demonstrate STEM concepts and real-world applications through hands-on activities. Science education projects include a broad range of activities, such as practical experiments in engineering, aeronautics, robotics, energy, chemistry, physics, biology, and geology.
