Allows you to keep the same chuck and accessories if you change your lathe - you only need to change the insert/adaptor. The internal thread is 3/4-Inch 16TPI and the external thread M38 matches the NOVA insert type chucks, to simply and easily screw into the back of your NOVA Insert Type Chuck. The NOVA I9NS inserts are only for “Insert Version Chucks”, NOT “Midi Chucks”, these are the only Chucks that will accommodate inserts. Below are the only “Insert Version Chucks” that will accommodate inserts:

2.) 23055 – Chuck SuperNova 2 with 50mm Jaws
3.) 23067 – Chuck SuperNova 2 Companion Z Insert
