Scotch Varnished Cambric Tape 2520 is a pressure-sensitive adhesive tape made from straight-cut woven cotton cambric fabric. The fabric is oil-primed and coated with a high-grade yellow electrical insulating varnish; varnished cambric tapes are flexible, electrically-insulating and moisture-resistant with a smooth finish. This tape is designed to perform continuously in temperatures up to 105 C (221 F) with excellent resistance to abrasion, puncture and cut-through, while its adhesive holds the tape in position after application. Scotch Varnished Cambric Tape 2520 is RoHS compliant.
Scotch® Electrical Insulating Varnished Cambric Tape 2520 insulates and seals electrical components. Resistant to punctures and cut-through, the straight cut woven cotton cambric fabric maintains its insulating properties through normal wear and tear. A pressure-sensitive, non-corrosive rubber resin on the backing keeps the tape in position after application. Flexibility offers ease of application and moisture resistance protects electrical connections. Cambric tape is often used for insulating joints requiring rapid and clean re-entry such as motor leads and service drops. Operating temperature range is 32°F (0°C) to 220°F (105°C).
This 8-mil thick, yellow varnished electrical tape is rated for Class A 220°F (105°C) applications. Typical tensile strength is rated for 50 lbs/ inch.
