Suggestion:
a. The load resistor will get huge hot, please don't touch it when the resistor is working.Because alumnium resistor is a braking device which transfers Electric energy to Thermal energy.This is a normal physical phenomenon.
b. The load resistor should be mounted on metal board, not on flammable board such as plastic board,rubber,paper,wood and etc.
c. We recommend a 30%-50% increase in rated power based on your actual load power and add a heat sink device when it is necessary. If you choose a 30% increase in rated power, you must add a heat sink device.
If you choose a 50% increase in rated power, you can add a heat sink device for the best use of its performance.
d. Not recommend to use it for Automotive repair or refit unless you have professional knowledge.
