🙋 FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS 🙋
Q: What is the recommended age range for these binoculars?
A: Children of all ages will enjoy these binoculars, from as young as 3 years old, up to teenagers.
Q: Does the neck strap have a quick release in case it gets caught on something? I am considering these for my 4 year old, and worried about strangulation.
A: Yes! We designed these binoculars with various safety features for children. Both ends of the neck strap have breakaway quick release mechanisms; the eye cups are flexible; and the entire set is shockproof.
Q: Are the lenses glass or plastic?
A: The lenses are made of optical glass, which helps see wider and clearer objects without distortion or blurring. We do not recommend using plastic or resin lenses for children.
Q: Are the binoculars size adjustable so that they can be used on different eye distances? I have a 10-yr-old and a 4-yr-old.
A: Yes, our kids binoculars fold to accommodate an interpupillary distance (the distance measured between the centers of the pupils of the eyes) of anywhere between 2 inches and 2.6 inches.
Q: What is the power magnification?
A: These binoculars are 8x21, which means 8x magnification and an objective lens diameter of 21mm.
Q: What is the weight of the binoculars?
A: About 6 ounces (less than half a pound).
Q: Do you think they would work for whale watching from the beach? What about concerts or plays?
A: Absolutely. They are ideal for any distant animal or activity that a child would enjoy seeing closer.
Q: Are the binoculars waterproof?
A: They are rainproof, as all surface materials are hydrophobic. If there are water droplets, simply wipe with a clean cloth. We do not recommend fully submersing in water.
Q: What is the prism glass type?
A: BAK4 roof prism.
