Use the male or female NMEA 2000 field-installable connectors to create custom-length drop cables and backbone extension cables. These connectors (each sold separately) can also be used to shorten any NMEA 2000 drop/backbone cable. In hard to access areas, make it much easier to run NMEA 2000 cables, by cutting off the original end connector, running the cable and then installing a NMEA 2000 field-installable connector. Use at the foot of the mast for easy connection/disconnection, of the mast cables for mast mounted NMEA 2000 sensors, to the backbone. This is the MALE connector.
