Our soundproofing hardware is the ultimate weapon when soundproofing a room. It works by allowing you to decouple your walls and ceilings from the joists in the building. When vibrations occur elsewhere in the building, they are absorbed by the rubber insulation and flexible hat channel creating a high STC (Sound Transmission Classification) rating for your walls or ceilings. This Soundproofing Mounting Clip works great with wood, steel or concrete framing where decoupling from the structural supports of the building is required. Our clip isolates the drywall from the underlying structure to provide an impressive soundproofing solution improving the STC and IIC ratings of construction assemblies. For best performance, use a 24" x 48" spacing. Using a smaller spacing will make the wall or ceiling too rigid resulting in less soundproofing performance. Using too large of a spacing may not provide enough structural support for the wall or ceiling assembly. Install with locally available steel furring (hat) channel and attach gypsum drywall to the hat channel. This decouples the walls and ceilings with ease providing much higher STC ratings than with typical construction methods.
