The Pure 12-String is a transducer-only system. No battery, no onboard electronics, just the pure pickups. Don't be fooled by the sound of some competitors' "thin sounding" passive systems. The Pure Systems are definitely different. They sound full and rich and have sufficient output to drive most amps and PA systems directly, without a preamp! The Pure 12-String's larger pickup heads produce an extra strong bass response and pronounced midrange. While this bass and midrange response is too strong for many guitars, especially very resonant ones, it sounds great in 12-string guitars and is a good alternative for guitars with heavy spruce tops and maple bridge plates or guitars that have a naturally bright sound. The Pure 12-String is specifically designed to reproduce the complex sound of a 12 string guitar, but can also be used on a 6 string guitar. The Pure 12-String uses full size sensors that are larger than the Pure Mini system. The sensors are approximately 3/4" across, and are designed to provide higher output and broader frequency response than the Mini sensors. These sensors will fit on most 12-string guitars as well as some 6 string guitars that have sufficient room under the bridge plate. The Pure 12-String can be installed with K&K's removable "on tape" mounting system. Stick the tape to the bridge plate first and superglue the pickups to the special polyester tape (supplied).
