Special Features

  • "Key-in-a-Box" Transponder Module Firstech Transponder Bypass Module (Key-in-a-Box). Transponder box to allow factory security system integration with the aftermarket remote starter
  • Technical Specifications: Manufacturer Compustar Group Module Type Transponder Key Transponder bypass module Used when installing remote start products in vehicles equipped with a radio frequency based immobilizer system This type of system uses a small chip imbedded in the ignition key, called a transponder, to transmit a very low powered RF signal
  • If your vehicle has this type of security system, you will need this type of bypass module to be able to install a remote starter This module is used by taking one of your spare keys and inserting it into this module and mounting it in the vehicle The module reads the signal sent from the key and transmits it to a ring installed around your key cylinder, tricking the car into thinking the factory key is in the ignition cylinder
  • Product tags iDataLink (48) , ADS- (31) , ADS-THR- (31) , ADS-HRN- (31) , ads-thr (31) , ads-hrn (31)

Description

This bypass module is intended for use on most vehicles that utilize a transponder based anti-theft system. An additional key will be required from the customer. This transponder antenna loop is adjustable and is used for vehicles that require stricter tolerances on loop size and placement. Being fixed in size, the normal antenna loops can make it difficult to maintain placement of the loop after the steering column is reconstructed. Vehicle makes such as BMW, Mercedes, and VW require the ring placement to be exact and any movement afterwards can cause failure some vehicles even require that the loop be wound flat against the ignition cylinder. With the v.2 adjustable loop, many different configurations with varying loop counts, loop diameters, and loop placement, can be tried to fall within the vehicles tolerances. While the exact answer for count, diameter, and placement may not be known, the v.2 loop gives you the ability to try an infinite number of configurations. This loop is adjustable in size and can be molded into many different configurations in an attempt to satisfy the vehicles tolerances. You will have to experiment with different loop sizes, how many coils are in the loop, and with loop placement as well. While it is a trial and error process, this adjustability allows it to work with many different vehicles that may not have been compatible with other transponder bypass systems.
