Description

GP7 - DCC READY Locomotive - SANTA FE #2686 (blue & yellow) - HO Scale. Manufactured between 1949 and 1954, the GP7 was EMD's first successful diesel road switcher. 2,729 units were constructed over a five-year period, with EMD barely managing to keep up with demand. The type would set the stage for EMD to become one of the most successful locomotive manufacturers of the latter half of the 20th century, and despite their age, many remained in service well into the 1980s. Now in their 7th decade, a selection of examples continue to find use on short lines and tourist railroads to this day. Our GP7 comes with directional lighting and a factory-installed 8-pin socket for the DCC decoder installation of your choice.
