East Broad Top - Freight Ready To Run Electric Train Set - On30 Scale - Runs on HO Track. The East Broad Top Railroad and Coal Company began operation in 1872 to mine and transport coal from Broad Top Mountain in central Pennsylvania. When the mines closed in 1956, the railroad was purchased by a private interest, and a segment was reopened for tourist excursions. The EBT held the distinction of being the only surviving original narrow-gauge railroad east of the Rockies for much of its history, until ceasing operations in 2011. Now, thanks to the dedicated efforts of both enthusiasts and investors, steam locomotives will once again head down the tracks of the EBT in 2022 as the railroad returns to service with passenger excursions. Bachmann is excited to celebrate the history and revival of the East Broad Top with this On30 freight train set.
