Description

Lotus 99T, considered the fastest car racing in a straight line that year of 1987, the iconic yellow Camel Livery and a older Honda engine, Honda was able to work out a deal in which their test driver Satoru Nkajima would become teammates with Ayrton Senna on Team Lotus. Satoru Nakajima became the first full-time Japanese Formula One driver. And on May 3, 1987 at the Monaco Grand Prix, he became the first Japanese driver in Formula One to score championship points, where he finished the race in sixth place and an overall 12th place for the season sparking a consistent and successful career in Formula One.
