Spinners find Targhee drafts similarly to Merino and love it for its softness. Dyers love Targhee for its ability to take color well and its matte finish. Lofty, elastic Targhee yarns are ideal for cozy, soft and resilient fabrics that feel luxurious and wear extremely well. Targhee will also felt extremely well. Targhee is a domestically grown wool that is processed in the United States. The Targhee breed was developed at the Experimental Sheep Station in Dubois, Idaho in the mid 1900's. The foundation stock were ewes of Rambouillet, Corriedale, and Lincoln bloodlines bred back to Rambouillet rams.
