This foot is used for piping with a cord diameter of about 2 mm. It is useful for making narrow piping tape using the same fabric as the piece of work, or for attaching piping tape to fabric The narrow piping foot features 2 grooves on the under-side of the foot. The right groove is used to make narrow piping tape. The left groove is used to attach narrow piping tape to fabric. This foot is designed in a way that enables you to smoothly sew curves. The left groove on the underside of the foot is shorter than the right one to allow for this. As a tip, snip several cuts in the tape prior to sewing to allow for a more flexible material. This piping foot can be used for top stitching as well. By using the sewn piping cord as a guide, you can top stitch with the same curve.
