Description
In the air before the beginning of WWII, the Messerschmitt Bf110 saw a short-lived superiority when there was a transition from biplane to monoplane double-engines fighter aircrafts, outperforming all other German planes as the war took off. Even with the upgraded variants; larger engine, more armor, the BF110E-2 couldn't keep up with the increased power of the fighters produced by the allies as it wasn't as fast and lacked maneverability, which the RAF and US Military took full advantage to exploit their weaknesses. Realizing their vulnerability as an easy target during the day with not enough time to escape, as was witnessed during the Battle of Britain, the roles of these airplanes, to give them a chance, were mainly missioned for night raids. With the cover of darkness, using strategic planning and tracerless amunition, they found success in their patrols over the desert in honing in on the Allies' blind spots, committing them to night raids.
