Hanayama ELK puzzle is a two piece take-apart puzzle. It is difficult to determine if the two pieces are exact OR maybe ever-so-slightly different. You judge! This is a level 6 puzzle on a scale on 1 to 6 where 6 is the most difficult. Most will find the ELK Puzzle an excellent challenge. Requires much thinking, planning and many attempts to separate the two pieces. Equally challenging is to put the puzzle back together. Occasionally someone will accidentally separate the pieces and think they are a genius !!!! NOT SO ! Mastering the puzzle means you can disassemble and assemble the two pieces easily. Meaning you know exactly which moves to execute to untangle the pieces and then to re-assemble. NO FORCE is ever required to solve the puzzle. Just a series of clever moves.
