Stiffness and tenaciousness: The unique quenching and tempering method to realize the stiffness and tenaciousness of Misuya needles, which is a treasure to give birth of a fine sword bearing the name of the swordsmith “Masamune” in the past.
Easy to thread: Larger eye of needle (hole for threading) can help finish the well holing inside, which means easy to thread and hard to break threads.
Freshly polished: Although horizontal polishing for needles is easy to do with a roller, some invisible horizontal scratches may remain in the way, which gets hard to needle cloths or fabrics. Misuya Needle is adopted to do only with vertical polishing consistently despite the way is much more troublesome than the horizontal polishing in order to secure and provide no-scratched needles.
Otsutsumi: Even “Otsutsumi” *1 is implemented by artisans' own (human) hands and eyes, also for the purpose of inspecting how well its steel is singed and finished, one by one. It is enwrapped with aluminum foil for the best condition in preservation and defending against humidity. *1: Enwrapping the needle for decoration and storing
Description
【About Misuya Bari (Needle for Japanese sewing)】 1] Tip of Needle Its tip has minute (unobservable) angles, not so sharp as to sever filament but meticulously made to loop through it. 2] Surface Very fine vertical lines are added in the process of polishing, which will reduce friction when Needle goes through filament, smoothly knitting the cloth used (with no aluminizing). 3] Hole of Thread Round holes are mainly adopted for threads used not to be jammed or severed. Its hole is thinner than its trunk; with a thread, the hole will be as thick as the trunk. 4] Strength Its tip is rather solid; parts around the hole are rather soft; its trunk is resilient with unique heat processing. Therefore, “Misuya Bari” has a good resilience, satisfying the condition for best Needle that ‘when bended, it'll curve for a second and be snapped'. 5] Finishing Artisans take each of the finished products on their hand to inspect its tip, hole, bend, solidness and whether it has any scar for copper-processing, one by one.
