It is an air barrier that separates sand from water. That's it: air, sand and water! Sand will seek out the weakest link in the bubble barrier.

The flow of sand between the bubbles creates dunes, mountains and valleys. Slower sand flows result in finer sand flows that create more dramatic peaks and valleys.

Faster sand flow creates dune shapes. Best of all, you can control the amount of air in each sand picture, so you can let the sand fall as much as you want.
