Dorian lives in the waters of the Gulf of Mexico just South of the Dominican Republic. Dolphins are special animals - they're super smart and social. They communicate with their distinctive clicks and whistles, which can be heard by fellow dolphins in and out of the water! They're also known to be extremely playful, like humans, engaging in many activities beyond feeding, sleeping, and mating. Dolphins belong to the species group cetaceans (along with whales) and their closest living relative is the hippopotamus, from which they diverged 50 million years ago
