Founded in 2015 by Renata Cherlise, Black Archives is a multimedia platform that shines a spotlight on the Black experience. Through an evolving visual exploration of unscripted joy, tenderness, and everyday moments, Black Archives gives voice to stories untold while providing a nuanced reepresentation of Black life. In reconstructing these photographs by puzzle, one is asked to consider: what does it mean to bear witness to Blackness while celebrating its beauty?
