It is packaged in silver mylar smell-proof bags, to keep the scent that roaches love inside the bag, and not in your house. This also maximizes convenience and guarantees freshness. All our roach chow has been frozen for over 48 hours before packaging to ensure that it is fresh and completely safe for use. Roaches and crickets LOVE this food and come running just at the smell!! Our roach chow is a dense, fine powder that is ideal for consumption and easier for your insects. Our roach chow contains a consistent amount of 17% protein which is perfect for the health and production of your insects and reptiles. High protein (over 20%) generates uric acid & uric acid is bad for most reptiles. Our roach chow also contains a high amount of calcium, which keeps the Ca:P ratio balanced. Ca:P ratio is the ratio of Calcium to Phosphorus in a food source. Both minerals are important for the health and well-being of your pet but it is vitally important to maintain a significantly higher Calcium than Phosphorus intake to prevent bone issues in reptiles. This nutritionally rich diet also helps improve growth and reproduction among your roaches or crickets, but even if you aren't a roach or cricket breeder, healthy food translates to healthy pets. Our water crystals are small granules (approximately one mm diameter) for maximum water absorption and best results. Simply leave some crystals in a large amount of water overnight, and strain them out in the morning.
