Maintenance: This is a high-density pad that keeps water cleaner and captures more aquarium waste. It requires frequent maintenance because the density results in more easy clogging. We recommend cleaning the pad every 1-3 days or whenever it becomes clogged. If you previously used lower-density pads or just started using a filter pad, you may experience a more frequent need for maintenance the first few days until the water gets polished.
