The holy image of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary is multifaceted. The two faces that dominate, however, throughout the presentation are those of Christ and Virgin Mary. Christ, with His hegemonic figure, is at the center above Theotokos and holds the soul of His Mother as an infant. Right below, is depicted relic of Virgin Mary.
