Earwax (cerumen), is a natural substance produced in the skin of the outer ear canal. It helps protect the skin of the ear canal against infection, insects, and water.
However, putting small things in your ears like headphones, hearing aids, Q-tips, cotton swabs - can push the wax further down the canal, thus causing excessive buildup.
Compacted ear wax can press against the eardrum or block the outside ear canal, potentially causing hearing loss.
In case of blockage or excessive ear wax buildup, it may be necessary to remove the impacted ear wax.
One of the most efficient and convenient ways to remove earwax build-up is by using ear picks.
