Parsley (Petroselinum crispum) is a biennial herb up to 50 - 100 cm tall with a fleshy fusiform yellowish-white root. The first year of life, the plant forms only a rosette of double dissected long leaves. In the second year, appear one or more furrowed erect, strongly branched stems. The stem lower leaves are twice pinnate, ovate in outline. The upper leaves are triple-dissected. The flowers are small, white, collected in complex umbrellas at the ends of branches. Parsley blooms in June and July. The fruit is a small, greenish-brown, slightly compressed laterally seed.
