Delphi may be best known for the oracle at the sanctuary that was dedicated to Apollo. Apollo spoke through this oracle: The Pythia. This statue depicts the Delphic Oracle sitting on a tripod cauldron in a trance. While in a trance the Pythia `raved`, uttering gibberish which was then translated by the priests of the temple and was consulted on everything. This 10-inch high, 4.5-inch long, 4.5-inch wide (25x11x11 cm) Pythia statue is expertly cast in resin with metallic bronze and color-washed finish, and is a must-have piece to start or add to your collection, and would make a great gift for mythology enthusiasts!
