Description

Blodeuwedd is the Welsh goddess of flowers, emotions, and innocence. Her life begins and ends with the journey of the Welsh hero Lleu Llaw Gyffes. The Welsh hero Lleu Llaw Gyffes has been cursed by his mother, Arianrhod to never have a name nor to hold any weapon, however, these curses were dispelled by the efforts of Gwydion and Lleu Llaw Gyffes, earning his name from Arianrhod in the process. Arianrhod's last curse is for Lleu Llaw Gyffes to never marry any known living creatures in this world, however, with the help of Math fab Mathonwy, Gwydion created Blodeuwedd from oak blossom, broom, and meadowsweet. Blodeuwedd later conspired to murder Lleu Llaw Gyffes with her secret lover Gronw, the pair failed the attempt, and Blodeuwedd got turned into an owl by Gwydion, the creature hated by all other birds and threatens her to never show her face in the daylight ever again.
