Physical properties: Aragonite is an orange-brown cluster crystal consisting of calcium carbonate crystals. These specimens hail from Morocco and are also referred to as the Sputnik variety because of their starburst-like appearance. They are of low-to-medium hardness (3-4 on the Mohs scale). It is what natural sea pearls are made of.
Metaphysical properties: As a root and sacral chakra activator, aragonite functions as a balancing stone. It can be highly grounding to the possessor, and can provide a sense of stability in times of crisis.
