Anubis is an ancient Egyptian god who is often associated with the afterlife and the journey of the soul after death. He is usually depicted as a man with the head of a jackal or a full-bodied jackal. Anubis is primarily known for his role in the death rituals, where he would guide the souls of the deceased through the underworld and preside over the weighing of the heart ritual which determined whether a soul would reach the afterlife. He is one of the most recognized gods from ancient Egypt.
