Description

The SUPERMARINE SPITFIRE is a British single-seat fighter aircraft used by the Royal Air Force and other Allied countries before, during and after World War II. It was produced in greater numbers than any other British aircraft. The Spitfire was designed by R. J. Mitchell, chief designer at Supermarine Aviation Works. This classic six-panel cap pays homage to the single-seat fighter aircraft that won the hearts of pilots and the public during WW2. The RAF's fuselage roundel is embroidered on the left side of the cap, with a thin yellow outer ring – this was to ensure the roundel was visible against the camouflaged aircraft. Alongside the roundel is the squadron and aircraft ID (EB-G). Embroidered on the back in a vintage script is ‘Supermarine' alongside the Union Jack. This everyday cap will win the hearts of many aviation enthusiasts.
