This Fluval FX4/FX5/FX6 Monthly Service Kit w/ Pads Package includes SIX items: the Fluval FX Carbon Foam Pad 2-Pack (Fluval A249); Fluval FX Ammonia Remover Pad 3 Pack (A259); Fluval Phosphate Remover Pad (A262); Fluval FX Nitrite Remover Pad 3 Pack (A265); Inland Seas Super Lube Silicone Lube, 1cc; and the MarineAndReef Aquarium Cleaning Towel. To prevent sudden failure or reduced performance, Fluval suggests you use these products to do Monthly Maintenance on their FX Series Canister Filters. Replace the included Carbon Foam (every month). If you're using the optional Ammonia, Phosphate & Nitrite Remover Pads, they should be replaced every month as well. For your Monthly maintenance you should also: Clean and lubricate the included Motor Seal Ring (with the included Inland Seas Super Lube Silicone Lube); Check and clean the impeller and intake Stem/Strainer; Check and clean the ribbed hosing; and Rinse the Bio-Foam & BioMax in tank water.
