The Staple Popper Stand Up Carpet Staple Removing Tool was designed to solve a specific problem, and has been incredibly successful as a result. Tearing up old carpets and refinishing the wood floors beneath is an ultra common practice, and from start to finish, the project is popping all those staples! Its always tempting to use a scraper or shovel - to just shear off the portion of the staple that is protruding. The problem this method can cause is when you go to refinish the wood floor, if your sanding belt catches the stubs of the staple that were left in the wood, it tears up your belts. The second problem with this method is after refinishing the floor, if the stubs begin to work their way out of the wood – and lead to some very unhappy customers! So this tool was designed right here in the USA - to solve this problem. The tool is designed to give the user ultimate ease and practicality. The stainless blade with patterned teeth aligns horizontally with the floor, while the wheels allow the tool to be moved around with ease. Once the stainless teeth are set under the staple, the handle sits at a 42 degree angle – so that minimum pressure is required to pop the staples out of the wood. This ideal pivot point, paired with the flush surface point of the teeth - guarantees a smooth finish that prevents any scratching or damaging of hardwood flooring. Lastly, and what it does not. If staples are embedded in the wood floor, this tool does not “ dig “ under the staple and pop it out. We get an extremely small amount of negative feedback on our products, and almost every time we do it is related to someone hoping this tool would dig under an embedded staple and into the wood - and extract the staple. Please only use this tool on staples where there is a gap between the staple and the wood. The net result is whether you a professional flooring contractor working on floors every day, or a weekend warrior DIY working on your own home – the StandUp StaplePopper is a must tool. When you run into a floor full of carpet staples that need to be removed – there is only one answer!
