The linocut printing technique was used first by the artists of Die Brücke in Germany between 1905 and 1913, where it had been similarly used for wallpaper printing. These lino cutters are made from the finest high carbon steel and ground to an optimum angle to ensure long-lasting cutting edges. Suitable for use with firm printmaking materials i.e linoleum as well as soft, hard and synthetic materials.
Usage of Lino Cutter Blades:
Style No. 1- A shape of the lino cutter ends are V-tools, fine lines and cross hatching. A line of 0.5mm or less is possible on softcut material.
Style No. 2- A universal and easy to use tool with a low angle commonly used as a basic first time tool to cut lines up to 1.5mm or less.
Style No. 3- A tight round cutter able to cut a 2mm deep sided lines. It is useful for cutting small circles by using swivel motion.
Style No. 4- A wide rounded ""V"" cutter for lines 3mm wide with 45"" walls for strong print surface.
Style No. 5- A thin lines marking tool for making the first lines to define the design before using other cutters to reomve the unwanted background.
