**Description

Piston cooling nozzle is the engines primary source of piston cooling. It is used to provide direct cooling of the piston throughout its compression and power stroke cycles. It is an high pressure fuel injector that brings pressurized fuel directly to the piston crown, thus cooling it as it is heated by combustion. The nozzle is typically found at the center of the pistons dome and is positioned so that the fuel sprays over the entire outer surface of the piston.
