Polyester Structural Repair Putty is waterproof and great for filling cracks, holes, chips and dents in fiberglass and gelcoat, above or below the waterline. This polyester putty is designed for structural bonding, not cosmetic fairing. For repairs requiring a smooth, easy-to-sand finish, apply TotalBoat Polyester Fairing Compound over Polyester Structural Repair Putty. After the fairing compound cures, sand smooth to prepare for gelcoat, such as TotalBoat Gelcoat with wax, or paint, such as TotalBoat Wet Edge topside paint. If you're not overcoating the putty with fairing compound, you need to add an air-dry agent such as paraffin wax (4 oz. of wax per gallon of putty) or apply PVA (polyvinyl alcohol) over it.
Putty comes with MEKP catalyst (use 1-2% MEKP).
