Designed to identify cables in an MDU and detect troublesome short circuits, this pocket continuity tester and toner is perfect for testing cables up to 5,000 ft (1,500 m) on the go. This tester features the following:

PT-100 Instructions
1. Unscrew the speaker located on the base of the unit.
NOTE: The base also houses the ON-OFF switch and powers on the unit when the speaker is removed.
2. The barrel of the device houses a DC transmitter and male F connector push-on fitting. Attach this
fitting to a female F connector port.
3. Touch the speaker to the end of each cable. When the correct cable is found, you will hear an audible tone.
4. When finished, screw the speaker into the base to power off the unit.
How to Read Results
1. If the cable condition is good, the LED will illuminate and the Speaker will emit a tone.
2. If there is an open circuit, the LED will be off and the Speaker will not emit a tone.
3. If there is a short circuit, the LED will be on, and the Speaker will not emit a tone.
4. If testing on a cable with Voltage over 4V, the LED will be off, and the Speaker will emit a tone.
Note that the pitch will change and the volume will increase in this case.
