Description

60 inches. Cardboard cutout of Harriet Tubman at her actual size. She was a humanitarian, abolitionist, and Union spy during the American Civil War. She was born into slavery, but escaped with a plan to rescue slaves. She made 13 missions to rescue more than 70 slaves. She used a network of fellow abolitionists and the legendary Underground Railroad to lead slaves to freedom. She was intelligent in that she carried a rifle for 2 purposes. One was to intimidate pro-slavery people, and the other was to threaten any slaves reconsidering their escape. A returned slave could tell too many secrets to leave. She only traveled by night and "never lost a passenger".
