The Lighting of Diyas is an important part of Prayer. It signifies purity, good luck and power. Diyas signify the nonexistence of darkness. Lighting of Diya before the beginning of any occasion invites positivity into the atmosphere. Lamps are usually lit using oil and ghee, but since years our tradition prefers ghee diya, especially cow ghee Diyas as they are considered pure and auspicious.
