1.The relationship of the timing chain to the lower sprocket must be maintained when servicing the upper sprockets, camshafts, valve springs, or valve seals.
If the chain to lower sprocket is not retained, the front cover must be removed, and the engine completely re-timed.
2. E-cowlboy Timing Chain Retainer Tools has two toothed feet, which engage into the chain to hold it against the guides, and retains this tension as the tensioner
and upper guide bolt are removed.
3.When the tool is installed, all upper head components may be serviced. The head may also possibly be able to be replaced with the tool in place.
4.Be careful that you don't catch the release rings during head removal. If you do, the tool will pop out and may lead to a timing chain headache.
