Arnica (Arnica montana) is a species of the genus Arnica of the family Asteraceae or Compositae (one of the largest families of dicotyledonous plants, widely distributed throughout the globe and represented in all climatic zones). Arnica is a perennial herb 15-80 cm tall, with a cylindrical creeping horizontally branched rhizome. It mainly grows in Central and Western Europe.
