Meadowsweet (Filipendula Ulmaria) is a perennial, herbaceous plant with a powerful, thick rhizome. The stem is erect, leafy. The leaves are large, with stipules and short petioles, pinnate, green or grayish-felt in color. Flowers are with concave hypanthium, small, white, are collected in very large numbers in a wide-spreading panicle apical inflorescence. The fruit is multi-root; the nuts are naked, sickle-shaped, and spiral-twisted. Meadowsweet blooms in July-August.
