Calcium Hydroxide podwer: Commonly known as hydrated lime, slaked lime.
Appearance: white powdery solid with alkali taste and slightly bitter taste. CAS NO.: 1305-62-0, MF: Ca(OH); MW: 74.096;PH=12.4.
Slightly soluble in water. Calcium hydroxide is strongly alkaline with a pH value of 12.4. Soluble in glycerin, hydrochloric acid and nitric acid, and a saturated solution of sucrose, insoluble in ethanol.
Food grade calcium hydroxide is often used as an acidity regulator (PH regulator), moderator, neutralizer, and curing agent; it can be used as a coagulant for making konjac food.
Calcium hydroxide can be used in rubber and petrochemical additives, such as added to lubricating oil in the petroleum industry, to prevent coking and sludge deposition; calcium hydroxide is alkaline and can be used to reduce the acidity of the soil, thereby improving the soil structure.
