This power pipe cleaner set includes 6 fitting cleaning brushes (2 for each of these sizes: 1/2-, 3/4-, and 1.0-in). They are used to clean pipe fittings with a diameter of 1/2-, 3/4-, and 1.0-inch. The diameters of brushes are slightly bigger than those of fittings to balance cleaning efficiency and friction/durability. The 1/4-inch shank on the brush fits most power drills. Brushes are used at low speeds on power drills (note: not designed for impact drivers). They clean copper, brass, and bronze pipe fittings for subsequent fluxing, soldering, sweating, brazing, or welding. These wire brushes are primarily designed to clean the inside of pipe fittings, but may also be used for other applications, such as cleaning automotive parts, bores, cylinders, tubes, holes, nut threads, etc.; removing rust, corrosion, and paint; surface preparation; fabricating, woodworking, polishing and finishing, etc.. The brush bristles are made with stainless-steel wires for heavy use and effective cleaning. It is a tool set for homeowners, DIYers, plumbers, and contractors, etc.
Instructions:
1. Safety first: please ensure necessary precautions & wear appropriate PPE that includes, but is not limited to, safety goggles, protective gloves, face masks, etc.
2. Select the appropriate size of pipe fitting brush for the task at hand. Using the wrong size brush may damage the tools and/or parts.
3. Use the pipe fitting brush only on a power drill, not an impact driver. Impact driver may cause damage to the tools or parts.
4. Set the drill to run at a low speed to avoid high torques. Low speed is sufficient to effectively clean the fittings. 5. Align the axis of the brush and fittings while using the tool.
6. Make sure the drill is set to run in the clockwise direction. The brushes are not designed to run counterclockwise.
7. Keep the drill running while inserting the brush and removing it from the fitting. Do not reverse the direction of the drill at any point during the process.
