When it comes time to mount the mandatory front license plate on your R1T or R1S the factory process is to punch two holes in your brand new truck. This was not an option I even considered so I set out to design a better way. I gave the included license plate frame some thought and realized I might be able to use it as a base and not let it go to a landfill.
The mount I created interfaces with the included frame from Rivian. Simply undo one screw, open the hinged mount and clamp it back around either side tow hook. Tighten down the included color matching hardware and you are set. Now take the frame, add your plate to it and snap one of the 3 available rows over the BEM pinch style mount. Push down and the frame will lock into place. To remove, press the textured paddle, which is hidden behind the license plate, towards yourself and pull up.
The license plate sits between the front bumper sensors and does not interfere with the autonomous functions of your R1T or R1S. It is now easy to quickly remove the frame for a car show, photoshoot, car wash or off roading and store it in the net located in the front trunk.
