The Oasis Monofyl suture is a monofilament synthetic absorbable surgical suture that is comparable to Ethicon Monocryl. It is a copolymer of glycolide and epsilon-caprolactone.
Monofyl is a synthetic, absorbable suture that is used in general soft tissue approximation and/or ligation. It is pliable, handles and ties easily, and absorbs predictably.
Monofyl is absorbed by hydrolysis and loses 50% of its tensile strength within about 1 week. It is completely absorbed within 120 days. The tensile strength of dyed Monofyl lasts slightly longer than the undyed one.
Excellent pliability and excellent holding strength! Minimizes tissue trauma by allowing easy passage.
For veterinary use
