The Nitrate test strip is used to detect Nitrate in solution at 10, 25, 50, 100, 250, & 500ppm. Nitrate test strips are often used to test fertilizer run-off in agricultural areas.

This strip is very sensitive to light and moisture, so be sure to keep the vial tightly sealed. Make sure to reseal the bottle immediately after opening to prevent the moisture from ruining them. Excessive amounts of nitrate or nitrite in water can cause illness, and can lead to spontaneous abortion in cows. Some wells contain high levels of nitrate.

Instructions:

Remove one test strip from the container. Do not touch the test pad to your finger.
Dip the test pad into the solution being tested for 2-3 seconds.
Remove the strip and shake off excess liquid.
Compare to the color chart after 1 minute.
