Constructed with a woven fiberglass backing, 3M Glass Cloth Tape 361 features a pressure sensitive silicone adhesive for applications requiring high-temperature resistance, high adhesion and clean removal. It is often used for high temperature applications such as sealing ducts and as a back-up strip for submerged arc welding.
3M™ Glass Cloth Tape 361 is coated with a silicone adhesive for many applications requiring high-temperature resistance, high adhesion, and a very strong, abrasion-resistant backing that removes cleanly. Tape can withstand intermittent temperatures up to 550⁰F or higher, depending on the type and duration of the heat source. Continuous exposure above 450⁰F should be avoided, as it will gradually degrade the adhesive causing loss of adhesion and darkening of the cloth backing.
3M™ Glass Cloth Tape 361 features a glass cloth backing with pressure-sensitive silicone adhesive. It is 7.5 mils thick with adhesion of 38 oz./in., tensile strength of 182 lbs./in. and elongation at break of 10%. The tape is primarily used in the aerospace, automotive, military, space, roofing, nuclear, specialty vehicle and ship building industries for fabric splicing, seaming and sealing panels, heavy duty masking, bundling, holding, harness wrapping and welding backup.
For more than a century, 3M™ has applied innovation and technology to improving our customers' lives and supporting their business goals.
